Using Brochure Display To Help Your Store Thrive by Adam Christie

After attracting customers into the store and making sales, one of the most important aspects for any retailer is to encourage repeat business and effectively promote the shop.
This is why it is important to think about how to show off brochures and other informative material, as well as which display stands will look best in your store.
Brochures and leaflets can serve a number of purposes for a retailer. One of the most obvious is that they can be used to promote forthcoming sales, special offers or the arrival of new products.
Ensuring that these are prominently displayed in your shop will help raise awareness among customers, who may go on to tell friends and family - which could in turn result in higher footfall in your shop.
It could also help encourage repeat visits among shoppers who will want to return to check out your sale or may have their eye on one of the new items you are planning to stock.

But where should you display such leaflets? There are a number of options open to you in terms of the types of brochure dispensers on the market.
One is to choose counter top dispensers, as these can easily be moved and positioned in the most advantageous locations around the shop.
For example, you could place them near the tills for shoppers to pick up - or for staff to put in with purchases to remind your customers about your store and its offers when they have returned home.
If your brochures relate to specific products within your outlet, you may want to position them next to the relevant items, such as on top of glass display cabinets.
This means that any customer browsing that item will be made aware of the deal you are offering on it, for example.
But you may not want to simply show brochures - you could have something larger in mind such as a catalogue or magazine.
In this case, you may find that wall-mounted or freestanding display stands are more appropriate.
Wall-mounted brochure dispensers can be especially useful in a small shop where you do not necessarily have the floor space or room on counter tops to place such promotional material.
Meanwhile, catalogues lend themselves particularly well to freestanding holders. A good place to position these is near the door. This not only means that shoppers can grab one on their way out, but people passing by can also easily pick one up and may then return to make a purchase at a later date.
Of course, information stands can be used in different ways and another option - rather than just disseminating information - is to collect it.
For example, you can run a competition in store that requires your customers to fill out a short form or contact card providing their contact details.
As well as giving them the chance to win something, it will also enable you to build up a database of interested shoppers that you can target with future marketing materials.
In order to make the most of this opportunity, you should consider investing in additional shop fittings, such as suggestion or ballot boxes where interested people can return their forms.
You just need to make sure you position these in a prominent location - and close to where the entry forms are located - in order to make it as easy as possible for shoppers to return their details.
Another accessory that may be of use is snap frames, which can be used to advertise deals, promotions and competitions.
It is easy to place a poster in such a frame to give it a professional finish and as they are straightforward to change, you can alter them as often as you need to.
There are wall-mounted and freestanding frames available, ranging in size from A5 to A1, so you should be able to find something that meets your needs and fits in with your store.
When you are deciding which brochures, leaflets or catalogues are most appropriate to hand out to your customers remember that these could serve as a reminder of your shop and the products you stock in the future.
Once a leaflet or catalogue leaves your store, it could be seen by many people and even appear again months later, which could encourage a previous customer to return to your store.
